Claire is a Partner and seasoned Solicitor with over 20 years of experience. In her role, she meticulously handles cases from start to finish, taking instructions, investigating liability, instructing experts, litigating and negotiating settlements.

Claire also supervises a team of solicitors and paralegals, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure smooth case progression and high standards of legal practice. 

Claire’s expertise lies in catastrophic injury cases, including traumatic brain injury, spinal injuries, and amputations. She has a particular interest in client rehabilitation, focusing on ensuring that clients receive comprehensive care and support throughout their recovery process. £400K Settlement for Cyclist Following Traumatic Brain Injury

Our client, a woman in her 70s, was out cycling when she was hit by a vehicle pulling out from a side road, resulting in a life-changing traumatic brain injury. She experienced word-finding difficulties, memory loss, severe depression and anxiety, suicidal ideation and extreme delirium. The client suffered a significant loss of independence and relied on family for additional care and support.   The case was handled by Partner and Solicitor, Claire Hutchinson who secured a substantial package of professional support. Despite allegations of contributory negligence and arguments surrounding the client’s life expectancy, Claire successfully recovered a settlement of £400,000, double the defendant’s initial offer.

Seven Figure Settlement for Roofer who Suffered Spinal Injury

Our client was working as a roofer when he fell from scaffolding, leaving him with serious injuries, including a life-changing spinal injury. Our client had to adjust to living with serious spinal injuries and being wheelchair dependant, as well as living independently for the first time, due to his parents’ home being unsuitable for his needs. A Life Rebuilt After a Devastating Collision

While walking toward Cambridge Train Station, our client’s life was tragically altered when a vehicle failed to see her, resulting in a severe collision. The injuries she sustained were catastrophic, including cranial fractures, multiple brain injuries, and orthopaedic damage to her left forearm and wrist, which required surgery. These physical injuries were compounded by vision problems, post-traumatic amnesia, and psychological trauma, leaving her dependent on her parents for everyday tasks and unable to work. The case posed significant challenges for our legal team. With no memory of the incident and minimal investigation by the police, piecing together the events was difficult, especially as the defendant disputed liability. Through thorough investigation—including visiting the accident scene, obtaining traffic light sequencing data, and canvassing the local community for evidence—our team built a compelling case. LM – Road traffic accident with uninsured motorist

We were instructed following a serious road traffic accident in which LM was a passenger in a car that was involved in a collision with another vehicle being driven by an uninsured driver. As a result of the accident LM suffered multiple injuries including spinal transverse process fractures, right arm fracture, left collar bone fracture, pelvis, sternum and rib fractures, Grade II liver laceration, iliac artery dissection and bowel injuries.
