Gillian Webber is a highly skilled and deeply committed Occupational Therapist and Rehabilitation Specialist with over two decades of experience across the statutory, private, and charitable sectors.
Gillian is renowned for her expertise in working with individuals who have suffered catastrophic or life-altering injuries. She offers practical, tailored support to those who need it, and works in a way that promotes independence – putting rehabilitation and recovery first and foremost. Her broad clinical background includes working with both adults and children as a case manager and in the social services. She also has experience working in neurological rehabilitation, medico-legal work, and service development.
Gillian has also developed links with Headway Norfolk and Waveney, which has enabled her to build specialist experience working with clients affected by traumatic brain injury.

ANON:
A 42-year-old single parent with 12 year old son was travelling home from a visit to her parents when she was involved in road traffic collision. A car had broken down on A road and she was one of several cars that hit the vehicle, liability was difficult to determine as it was not known what order cars hit. The client suffered a traumatic brain injury, and some minor fractures.
In her capacity as a Rehabilitation Manager, Gillian provided support in a number of ways, including:
- Supporting the client’s mother who was taking care of her son.
- Liaising with schools and social services to get the clients son a suitable school placement
- Researching and providing information on local charity ( Inspire Kids) providing trauma support to children in schools
- Providing information on brain injury suitable for teens- Headway
- Liaising with various NHS trusts and hospitals to try and ensure client had a speedy transfer to the rehabilitation unit.
- Supporting the clients mother to follow up on community referrals.
ANON:
A 39 year old mother of 3 was hit by a falling branch whilst walking to work. As a result, she sustained a serious spinal cord injury that left her with complete motor and sensory loss from the chest down. Now wheelchair dependent, the client needed support with transfers.
Gillian supported the client in a number of ways, including:
- Encouraged client to seek specialist rehabilitation at Stoke Mandeville.
- Supported client with occupational therapy referral to arrange adaptions for her home.
- Liaising with social services to increase her care hours and source a community alarm
- exploring other funding options such as NHSCHC/ children’s services / OT referral and support with rehousing.
- Providing information on support available from local advice agencies such as SIA and Backup.
