Supporting Spinal Research at the Border Cup 2014

Teams North and South at the Border Cup golf tournament

This year, we were delighted to take part in the Rooprai Spinal Trust’s Border Cup golf tournament, held earlier this month on Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day and in aid of Spinal Research.

The annual event brings together an array of the Rooprai Spinal Trust’s supporters from all across the country, and as ever, we were proud to be invited. The day is fun, friendly and ultimately it's for a worthwhile cause, and here at Serious Law we have a group of keen golfers, meaning that hopes rested upon seven of our team bringing their “A” game.

Following the Ryder Cup’s format, two teams battle it out point for point. Extra frisson is added to proceedings with one team representing the north of the country (this year in red) and pitted against that historical enemy: the south (wearing black). As members of Team North, our guys were out to avenge the previous year’s defeat at the hands of Team South.

Andy, co-founder of the Rooprai Spinal Trust, has written a fantastic blog about the events of the match and reveals who the (well-deserved) victors were. There are some tremendous photos and it’s always great to lend our support to such great causes – we’re already looking forward to next year’s competition!
