The incident

Our client was riding his motorcycle when a driver emerged from a junction into his path, causing a collision. He suffered the following injuries:

  • a complex fracture of the right hip joint
  • a pelvic ring fracture
  • injury to the right knee (a posterior cruciate ligament avulsion)
  • fractures of the right radius and ulna
  • psychological trauma

The case

The client was represented by Solicitor, Dale Bickerstaffe and Chartered Legal Executives, Victoria Martin, and Katie Rutter.

The aftermath

Following the RTA, our client needed surgery, including a total hip replacement and later, knee surgery to treat the injury to his posterior cruciate ligament.

The case outcome

Our client had significant pre-existing health issues, including diabetes and COPD, which had impacted his ability to work before the accident and affected his life expectancy. He had worked previously as a Document Controller and wanted to return to that line of work in the future.

Thanks to the dedication of our serious injury lawyers, we were able to achieve a substantial settlement of £125,000 for our client, which will give him financial security while he makes a transition back into work.

Once the case was resolved, Solicitor, Dale Bickerstaffe commented: “He was a delightful client who thoroughly deserved this outcome after a very difficult time over the past few years. He was polite and understanding throughout the process and I will miss our frequent chats. We wish him all the best for the future.”
