The claimant, an 18 year old on a night out in Manchester was evicted from a bar. Regrettably, he went back to the bar carrying a knife, a bouncer saw him and used deemed excessive force, striking a bottle over the claimants head, subsequently leaving him with a lifelong eye injury. Both were criminally convicted and ATE refused to insure. Jim took the case on as a conditional fee agreement and was able to compromise a liability settlement and eventually settled shortly before a 2 day trial.
