The claimant tripped on a raised paving slab on the pavement close to her home, causing fractures to both ankles leading to the development of a pain disorder. The defendant attempted to argue causation, i.e. that the injuries/symptoms had been suffered due to other causes. Even after we were able to show this not to be the case, they continued to argue the case. Ultimately, due to the strength of the evidence Emma obtained, she was able to negotiate an out of court settlement in the region of £40,000, which the client was extremely happy with.
