Ms N

Acting for a child pedestrian knocked down by a bus whilst walking home from school. The case involved a very complex liability dispute and quantum also proved difficult due to the severity of the injuries and the extent of the Client’s recovery. This case required a very prolonged input to monitor the Claimant’s development from childhood through to her college years with an assessment on the injury had affected her educational and career trajectory, thereby supporting a claim for future loss of earnings. Ultimately a very favourable settlement was achieved.

Mr E

Representing an elderly client following very serious injuries sustained when he was struck by a van whilst waiting to cross the road. Addressing complex liability and contributory negligence issues in respect of a lack of footpaths in the area, a very unusual junction arrangement, challenging weather conditions and positioning of the Claimant and the vehicle involved. The client was ably repressed by his very caring and eloquent family. His son acted as litigation friend, coordinating valuable input from all of the client’s children and wife. Achieving an excellent settlement combining a lump sum and periodical payments to reflect a dispute regarding life expectancy. Representing the Claimant at the approval hearing along with Leading Counsel and the litigation friend.

Mrs G

Acting on a behalf of a paraplegic client who sustained injury during a routine back operation. Achieving an early admission of liability with the effective use of the litigation process and securing a very large interim payment to allow the Client to acquire a suitable property and implement a private care regime at an early stage in her case. Ultimately guiding the Claimant through the litigation process and achieving a multimillion pound settlement and ongoing annual payments to fund the Claimant’s lifetime need for care.
