A charity dedicated to treating those with a spinal injury has received a donation from one of its former patients.
The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, situated in Salisbury, Somerset, accepted £5,000 raised during a series of concerts put on by 17-year-old Edmund Rhind-Tutt at Millfield School and Strode College.
According to the Central Somerset Gazette, the student suffered a spinal injury while cycling on holiday in the French Alps and received care from the centre and its physiotherapy equipment.
Jeremy Major, a trustee at the charity, said: "We are very grateful for this generous donation... It's wonderful to see Edmund back on his feet and we wish him the very best as his mobility continues to improve."
South Carolina recently got its own Center for Spinal Cord Injury, which was opened last week by Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center, Carolinas Rehabilitation and the SC Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund.
