A woman who was paralysed from the waist down after suffering spinal injury in a horse riding accident has gone on to become a successful dressage rider.
Emma Douglas, 25, was left with severe spinal injury when she fell off a friend's horse five years ago.
The Scottish Sun reports Ms Douglas as saying: "As soon as I landed that day I knew it was a serious injury. I'd landed on my bum and lower back, with my legs bent underneath me."
However, since the accident the rider has got back in the saddle, competing with the Scotland Para Dressage Team in addition to taking part in equestrian competitions for non-disabled riders.
This comes after construction worker Richard Cooke was left with severe brain and spinal injury when he fell through the roof of a farm building.
Mr Cooke was sub-contracting for Clive Pearce of CW Pearce at the time of the incident.
