After suffering a severe spinal injury in an ATV accident earlier in the year, a US high school student is making a "miraculous" recovery, it has been reported.
Mackina Dobrinski, from Bethany, Oklahoma, is beginning to walk again after the spinal cord injury in May, according to NewsOn6.com.
Her doctor at The Children's Center in Bethany told the news provider that she is doing better with her recovery than they could have hoped for.
Dr Ed Wright said attributed her athletic background to her speedy recovery.
It seems the community is rallying round Ms Dobrinski, raising $14,000 (£9,000) to help make her home more accessible for the teenager.
"I've been so thankful for everything that everybody's done and happy that God let me walk again," she said.
The news comes as the potential risk of death or serious injury from ATVs, or quad bikes, in the UK is being tackled by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Officials from the HSE warned recently that moving vehicles such as quad bikes are the main cause of fatalities in British farming - the most dangerous industry in the UK.
