Spinal injury charity calling on skydive volunteers

A leading spinal injury charity is calling on volunteers to go skydiving to raise money for spinal cord injury patients.

The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) says it wants 30 adventurous people to take part in its 13,000ft Tandem Skydive Challenge.

Dates are available throughout the year, allowing volunteers to pick a day that suits them.

In addition, there are 22 different jump sites to choose from, meaning brave jumpers can find somewhere close to where they live.

The campaign hopes to build on the success of last year's tandem skydive event held at Hinton Airfield, when seven people jumped for the spinal injury charity.

People interested are being asked to visit the SIA website to get more information and download an information pack.

SIA is unique in that all of the charity's elected trustees are spinal cord injured.

Among its activities, it offers support and assistance to people suffering from a spinal injury from the injury and for the rest of the person's life.
