Spinal injury patient in charity skydive

To mark the two-year anniversary of the accident that left her paralysed with a spinal injury, a woman from Wales is taking part in a skydive to raise money for the Spinal Research Charity.

Allyson Capron suffered a broken back in September 2008 that left her permanently paralysed from the waist down.

She wants to raise money to "make paralysis history", adding that it is not for her benefit as it "too late" for her.

"I hope to raise money for this charity as I want to help others in a similar situation to mine. With more resources an effective treatment will be found to 'cure' paralysis," she explained.

Her JustGiving page reveals that she is well over halfway to reaching her target of £500, with a total of £283.50 already pledged for the ParaPrincess Skydive, which is due to take place on September 25th.

According to the charity, over 800 people are left paralysed in the UK and Ireland every year following a spinal cord injury.
