Brits with spinal injury will soon be able to take part in the UK's first integrated 'spinning class'.
The training regime has been conceived by the Aspire National Training Centre in Stanmore.
According to Medical News Today, wheelchair users can take advantage of the Krankcycle, which is located alongside traditional spinning bikes to allow disabled and non-disabled gym users to participate in classes together.
Speaking to the website, centre manager Rosie Williams said: "The innovative Krankcycles open up the 'Spinning'-style experience to those with no lower-body mobility and all of our instructors have been fully trained in how to use the Krankcycle safely and effectively."
Last month, research published in the Archives of Internal Medicine by scientists at the University of Georgia suggested that regular exercise can reduce the anxiety of patients with a chronic illness.
Researchers found that anxiety fell by a fifth in patients that regularly attended the gym or used fitness equipment such as the Krankcycle.
