Tibion Corporation develops new technologies to aid spinal injury recovery

Bionic technologies that can aid the rehabilitation of those that have suffered from spinal cord injuries are being designed and developed by Tibion Corporation in America.

Charles Remsberg, who has almost 20 years of experience in working for rehabilitation technology companies, has just joined Tibion and will be aiding in the development of the new "wearable" technologies.

Kern Bhugra, president and co-founder at Tibion, said: "We believe Mr Remsberg can best help us rapidly achieve commercialisation of Tibion products including our PK100 Bionic Leg."

Mr Remsberg previously worked for the American arm of the privately held Swiss company Hocoma AG, which is best known for its clinic-based Lokomat robotic gait orthosis that has helped thousands of people with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and cerebral palsy to recover their ability to walk.

Tibion's PK100 Bionic Leg Orthosis is a powered, assistive leg device that enhances rehabilitation therapy by supplementing muscle strength and function.
