Spinal injury victim Phil Packer will walk the London Marathon for a second time, supporting 26 charities through sponsorship.
The 36-year-old soldier, who raised over £1.3 million for Help the Heroes in last year's marathon, will be accompanied by a young person representing each charity for each mile of his walk.
Mr Packer estimates that the walk will take him 26-hours. He will be joined by 15-year-old Ben Sneesby representing the Back-Up Trust on his ninth mile.
He said: "He [Ben] is a great role model for young people and has never let his disability prevent him from pursuing his dreams."
Mr Packer also noted on his own website that he is keen to provide inspiration and hope for young spinal injury victims through his efforts.
The Big Lottery Fund recently awarded the Back-Up Trust a three-year grant to support its Spinal Injury Liaison Project team, who work at eight spinal cord injury centres across England.
