A spinal injury sufferer with a number of television presenting credits is relieved her life has "returned to normal".
Writing for the Daily Mail, Victoria Hollingsworth stated the support of her parents has got her back on her feet after a car crash.
The former A Place In The Sun star was working in Spain five years ago when she was involved in the accident, which left her needing treatment with titanium rods and bone grafts.
Although doctors warned her family she may not survive or could be left paralysed after being cut from the wreckage, following a period of rehabilitation Ms Hollingsworth is now looking to the future.
"I have become a more cautious person but the thing that has changed more than anything is my attitude," she told the news provider.
"My career has also taken a new direction," she added, explaining she has hit the books to study for a journalism degree and helped to make a documentary.
Another spinal injury sufferer who has hit the headlines is hiker Karen Darke.
She is planning to cross the Antartic in 2011 using just arm power.
