A man paralysed in a car accident has overcome his spinal injury thanks to surgery in the UK.

However, neurosurgeon Karoly David and his team at Queen's Hospital in Romford repaired the 22-year-old's broken back by repositioning and freeing his spinal cord and now Mr Timms has regained some feeling in his legs.

Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Timms said: "Mr David did an incredible job. But we still didn't know what the outcome would be at first.

"I could feel a little pulse in a muscle in my leg. People were worried that I might be imagining it but I knew it was there."

He is now able to stand unaided after intensive therapy and is looking forward to the future.
