Spinal injury group stages Santa run

A festive-themed fun run was recently staged by a spinal injury organisation.

According to a report from This is Wiltshire, as many as 300 people took part in the Longleat Santa Fun Run earlier this month, with the aim of supporting the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust (SSIT).

One participant, Helen Bull, who was once involved in a car accident herself, told the publication: "I know how it feels to try and get your life back on track and I wanted to help and inspire others by taking part."

The Longleat event also saw Tempest from the television programme Gladiators give up some of her time to back the Santa run.

People with spinal cord problems in certain south-west regions of the country are able to benefit from the support of the SSIT.

The charitable body works to boost the health and living standards of those who have to deal with the effects of spinal injury.
