A group of American spinal cord injury (SCI) sufferers have pedalled their way to a record charity donation.
Team Ride-On (TRO) used specially-made sports equipment to complete the feat, which helped to raise $199,000 (£121,670) for the Kelly Brush Foundation (KBF).
The group which is made up of rehabilitated patients - embarked on a 100-mile trek for the non-profit organisation, which is planning to now splash the cash on more adaptive gear to help SCI victims get active.
Among the competitors were Chris Waddell and Sarah Will, Para-Olympians who rode modified skiing apparatus.
Leader of the team Patrick Standen, who is also president of the Northeast Disabled Athletic Association, said the troupe relished the chance to help others in a similar medical situation.
"Many of the members of our team purchased the hand cycles they used in the ride with help from KBF grants and we're happy to pay it forward," he remarked.
In related news, founder of the charity Kelly Brush was commended by the National Collegiate Athletic Association earlier this year as she was handed its Inspiration Award.
