Spinal cord injury sufferer 'defies doctors to run again'RSS Feed

A man with a spinal cord injury has urged others with the ailment to defy doctors and walk again, according to a report.

Lee Miller told the Philadelphia Inquirer those who are struck down with the illness can get back on their feet if they are determined to succeed.

He was involved in a crash 19 years ago, leaving him with paralysis and memory problems.

Recalling the first 30 years of his life is still impossible, but following long periods of rehabilitation and treatment, he has defied doctors to run again.

He told the news provider: "If you want something bad enough, you can achieve it. Just work really hard at it. Anything is possible."

Another spinal cord injury sufferer who has hit the headlines due to her recovery is Madison Lawson.

The youngster was crushed by a horse in 2007, but told the North Bay Nugget she plans to compete in the London Para-Olympics in 2012.
