A school girl was taken to hospital with a possible spinal injury after a tractor hit her school bus yesterday (Monday, November 16th).
The double-decker bus was taking around 40 children home from school at 16:00GMT when it was hit by the grabbing arm of a tractor at Lydiard Millicent near Swindon.
Paramedic Dave Wilmot said that the tractor's raised grabber arm tore through the upper deck of the bus.
Great Western Ambulance Service sent an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and two ambulances to the scene.
Mr Wilmot said: "It was a difficult operation removing the girl through the windows of the bus on a spinal board which we placed her on as a precaution."
Two other pupils were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"The incident could clearly have been much worse," added Mr Wilmot.
