New spinal injury organisation formed

A new spinal injury organisation - the Life Rolls On Foundation - has been formed.

The body, which has been created as a result of a merger between the Life Rolls On Foundation and Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, was formed on September 25th, which would have been the Superman actor's 57th birthday.

In a statement, the two organisations explained that their focus and mission will remain the same and that the merger is effective immediately.

Kris Nakamura, executive director and chief executive of Life Rolls On, stated that the bodies look forward to providing support to those who have suffered spinal injuries through enhanced access to quality of life resources and initiatives.

"Charting a new course and unifying the spinal cord injury community is necessary to create a better future and realise the greatest potential for discoveries, interventions and advancements," added Peter Wilderotter, president and chief executive of the Reeve Foundation.
