An up-and-coming Leicester Tigers rugby player has been told to rest after suffering a spinal injury.
Will Hurrell is likely to miss the remainder of the season but is not expected to experience any long-term problems as a result of the injury, the Melton Times reports.
The winger will be out of action for three months after he picked up a stress fracture of the spine, although if all goes to plan he could still make the IRB Under 20s World Championship this summer.
Hurrell, a 20-year-old winger, has already been named in the England squad for the eagerly-awaited tournament.
The newspaper states that the Tigers will be "keeping a very close eye" on the player's rehabilitation, after Hurrell broke into the senior team for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Hugh Godwin in the Independent has pointed out that modern-day rugby players tackle with greater force than their forbears, creating a higher risk of injury.
The emergence of full-time training in rugby union since 1995 has led to "bigger, quicker players", he commented.
