Two women are to prove that spinal injuries do not have to stop people from achieving great things by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this month.
Erica Davis and Tara Butcher's goal is to raise awareness for those with physical disabilities so that they can take part in the sports and activities that they love.
So far, £1,215 (£752) has been raised, some of which will be donated to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, established in 1997 to help people complete physical challenges and athletic endeavours.
Speaking to the Salt Lake Tribune, Ms Butcher confessed that she is not an "outdoorsy" person but that she was looking forward to the challenge.
"I'm definitely excited because it's outside of my comfort zone. I've never had one thought of not making it because I know we will," she said.
Earlier this month, British yachtsman Geoff Holt, who also has a spinal injury, completed a 2,700-mile boat journey.
