Christmas gift guide for spinal injury victims published

The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation has created a Christmas gift guide for those who have sustained a spinal cord injury.

There are 27 gifts on the list ranging from kids toys to cooking essentials. The guide includes a brief description of each product's uses and where they can be purchased.

Joseph Canose, vice-president at the Reeve Foundation, said: "Giving a gift should be just as fun as receiving one. Whether it is a wheelchair bag or fishing pole, our 2009 Holiday Gift Guide for People in Wheelchairs offers something for everyone."

There is also a section on the website that gives expert advice from three industry professionals on wheelchair clothing, bags, and toys that are perfect for children who use wheelchairs.

Actor Christopher Reeve was paralysed from a spinal cord injury in 1995 and, as a result, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation was created.

The foundation funds innovative research into curing spinal cord injury and it aims to improve the quality of life of those living with paralysis.
