Business man improves fitness while recovering from spinal injury

A business man that was temporarily paralysed last year has not only made a dramatic recovery from his spinal injury, but has managed to improve his overall health and fitness too.

Scott Frost president of Titan Nightlife Group, which develops, operates and promotes nightlife venues and restaurants primarily in and around Las Vegas, was paralysed from the neck down after an accident in May 2009, the Las Vegas Weekly reports.

Mr Frost, who is 6ft 7ins, underwent surgery and courses of occupational and physical therapy and, during this process of recovery, he lost 3.1 stone and reduced his blood pressure to a healthy level.

He launched the Spine Injury Recovery Foundation (SIRF), which is a not-for-profit organisation that helps families affected by spinal injuries.

Mr Frost told the newspaper: "Everyone knows someone who knows somebody who's been affected by spinal injury or traumatic brain injury ... everyone can identify."

A British man has also recently benefitted form complicated spinal surgery, having being told there was less than a ten per cent chance that he would be able to walk again.

Aaron Timms is now able to stand unassisted and is optimistic about the future, This is London reported.
