People with acquired brain injury could receive extra support from one brain injury charity after it was awarded a significant donation of £10,000.
The Big Lottery Fund Energy Efficient Venues programme donated the money to Headway Belfast in order to help them save money on heating and lighting costs, reports BBC News.
Headway's new centre on the Upper Castlereagh Road is to receive double doors, an upgrade on the heating controls and lighting system and the installation of wall partitions.
Chief executive Fiona McCabe told the news organisation: "Our old building used oil heating and coupled with the expense of electricity our costs were huge.
"But we have moved into a new venue and these improvements will help us cut down on our bills, so we can put more money into continuing to improve the lives of the people we support."
This follows news that a unit to assist those with spinal cord injury has opened in Roper Hospital, South Carolina.
