Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who suffered severe brain injury after a shooting has been moved to a rehabilitation facility.
The success of her recovery depends on the degree of her brain injury along with her determination and the proficiency of her therapists, doctors say.
CBS news reports Washington University neurologist Maurizio Corbetta as saying: "There is a relationship between the amount of therapy you receive and the degree of recovery."
"This is particularly true in the first three to six months when the brain is reorganizing."
Meanwhile, one doctor maintains that the democrat's recovery so far is not completely out of the ordinary, according to a report.
Dr. Jeffrey Frank, director of Neuromedical and Neurosurgical Intensive Care at the University of Chicago Medical Center told Medill Reports Chicago that the recovery is not completely miraculous and emphasised the importance of the doctor's role in her recovery.
Giffords was injured by 22-year-old gunman Jared Loughner at a Safeway in Tucscon, Arizona in a shooting that killed six people.
