A man who suffered severe brain injury during his birth has been awarded £5.7 million in compensation, 33 years later.
Ian Murphy was left with severe cerebral palsy after errors were made during his birth in 1977 and now needs constant care and help with communication and socialising.
Mr Murphy's parents did not know their son was eligible for compensation until they enquired about his future accommodation.
The South Central Strategic Health Authority apologised to Mr Murphy for the incident, which took place at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital.
According to the Oxford Times, a spokesman said "terms of a settlement have been agreed in relation to Ian Murphy’s claim which, due to the historic nature of the claim, is against the Strategic Health Authority."
This comes after Jeff Brazier told the Sun that a documentary he has made about his younger brother who has cerebral palsy was his biggest TV challenge yet.
