Brain injury charity Headway has been recognised by the British Medical Association (BMA) for some of its publications.
Psychological effects of brain injury and Memory problems after brain injury each received Highly Commended prizes at the BMA Medical Book of the Year Awards 2010.
In a successful evening for the charity, six more of its booklets received commended awards: Driving after brain injury, Minor head injury, Rehabilitation after brain injury, Managing anger after brain injury, Loss of taste and smell after brain injury and Managing anger - tips for brain injury survivors.
Headway chief executive Peter McCabe said the charity is dedicated to producing high-quality information sources for those affected by brain injury.
"Over the past year, our communications team has produced a host of new booklets and factsheets to provide much-needed information to people with brain injury, their families and carers," he explained.
Headway has announced the dates for next year's Action for Brain Injury Week, which will take place between May 9th and the 15th 2011.
