A charity is holding a walking and cycling day to raise funds for brain injury.
The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey is holding its annual Walk for Thought/Cycle for Safety event in October to raise money and to increase awareness about brain injury and the need to prevent it.
Barbara Geiger-Parker, president and chief executive officer of the foundation, said the event will be a great day of family fun.
"This is a great opportunity for our constituents, families, and cycling enthusiasts to come out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather and raise money and awareness for those affected by brain injury," she explained.
The charity points out traumatic brain injury is the "signature" injury of the Iraq war and is a leading cause of death and disability.
Scientists in the recently established that soldiers who have suffered traumatic brain injury face an increase risk of epilepsy.
