Richard Burns Foundation to support brain injury charity

Brain injury Headway is to get some financial help from the Richard Burns Foundation, it has been announced.

At this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, the foundation will donate all its proceeds to Headway Tunbridge Wells and District to help fund a housing project for people affected by brain injury.

The Richard Burns Foundation was established by the family and friends of the 2001 World Rally Champion who died in 2005 from brain cancer.

Its aim is to give financial support to people living with or affected by brain injury or cancer.

Burns' long-term girlfriend Zoe Scott said: "I know that Richard would have been thrilled for us to be supporting Headway, such a great cause.

"Throughout his illness, Richard was always extremely concerned by how people managed to cope with life-changing disease, particularly if those people had limited funds."

Headway is a national charity formed in 1979 that helps brain injury patients through a national network of local branch and support centres.
