A group of cyclists in Wales have completed a 104 mile bike ride to raise money for babies suffering from brain injuries.
The eleven cyclists have doubled their original fundraising target of £1,000, with the money going towards purchasing new equipment for the neonatal unit at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, according to holdthefrontpage.co.uk.
Specialist equipment will cool the body and brain temperature of babies born with a brain injury.
The cause is close to the heart of organiser Darren Hyland, whose baby boy died to a neonatal death at the hospital aged just 31 hours in April.
One of the cyclists Richard Jones told the website: "The reasons behind us all agreeing to take on this gruelling challenge are very sad but I have huge respect for Darren and his wife, Karen, for managing to find a positive in it all and organise this bike ride to raise both funds and awareness."
He added that they are still collecting money so he hopes the amount raised could soon be closer to £3,000.
Yesterday it was reported that Rav Wilding, presenter on the BBC's One Show, visited a Dorset school to raise awareness about the Child Brain Injury Trust.
