Traumatic brain injuries on the agenda at medical summit

Treatments for traumatic brain injuries are set to be on the agenda at an upcoming medical summit.

EP Global Communications and iMedicor are holding the World Congress on Disabilities Conference in Jacksonville, Florida, on November 19th and 20th, which will see doctors discuss ways of alleviating a range of disabilities.

One of the five programmes will focus on the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help relieve the symptoms of head traumas, autism and cerebral palsy.

Other gatherings will discuss Lennox Gasteau syndrome and seizure management, with numerous organisations – such as Southwest Airlines – supporting the event.

The keynote address at the meeting will be given by general James T Conway, who is in the US marines, while staff from the Beth Israel Center will also be on hand to offer their opinions.

Delegates unable to attend the event will be able to follow proceedings over the internet in a live webcast, while clips of the seminars will be able to download for three months afterwards.

One area of medicine which could be up for debate at the conference is regenerative medicine – chief executive officer at Stem Cell Therapeutics Dr Alan Moore recently said it was an "exciting" time in this area of the profession.
