TV celebrity supports brain injury charity

A television actress is giving her backing to a new awards scheme being launched by a brain injury charity.

Sarah Parish, known for her leading roles in dramas such as Cutting It and Mistresses, has welcomed the latest move by the Headway Somerset charity, of which she is a patron, thisisthewestcountry.co.uk reported.

The charity's new awards ceremony will recognise the achievements of people with brain injuries and those in the community who have contributed to its work.

"I think these awards are a wonderful way to recognise the determination, strength and courage of a brain injury survivor whose personal experience stands as a shining example to us all," Ms Parish told the news provider.

She added that she was "honoured and delighted" to have been approached by the charity to be its patron.

Headway Somerset is an independent charity, affiliated to Headway UK, which provides social and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with brain injury and support for their families.
