Military event to discuss traumatic brain injury

Traumatic brain injury will be one of the topics discussed at an upcoming military medical treatment and research event.

Country United: Advancing Medicine from the Frontlines to the Homefront will take place over two days in Washington DC, starting on November 6th.

A host of experts will speak, covering topics such as traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress.

Lecturers are due to include director of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence Dr James Kelly and Dr W Craig Vanderwagen, former assistant secretary for preparedness and response.

"[The] event [is] dedicated to supporting advances in medical care and quality of life for our nation's battle-wounded, ill and injured service members," the organisers stated.

Attendees to the meetings will also get the chance to see performances from Grammy Award-winning country singers Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Meanwhile, Green Bridge Industries has promised to donate some of its profits to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The money will be used to help those who have been harmed in service, some of whom suffer from brain injuries.
