School pupils have recorded a charity single written 21 years ago by a man with a brain injury.
Tommy McNally wrote the song Send Food to the Many in 1988 and recorded it that year with school pupils, the Big Issue reported.
Mr McNally sold copies of the seven-inch single out of a bucket at a shopping centre.
He planned to re-record the single this year to raise money for water and food projects in Africa, but he was involved in an accident in which he sustained a brain injury, according to the magazine.
The father-of-17's family, the local community and school pupils helped to make Mr McNally's dreams come true and a choir of 30 school kids re-recorded the single in a day.
All of the money raised will go to actor David Hayman's Spirit Aid charity.
Mr McNally's daughter Clare Cairney said that when she played the re-recorded single to her father he "waved his fingers as though he was conducting".
In Surrey, regulars of a pub have been taking part in fundraising activities and have managed to raise over £800 for a charity that aids children with brain injuries in their recovery.
