Llanelli set for new residential brain injury clinic

A new residential acquired brain injury centre is set to open in the Welsh town of Llanelli.

The centre will be used to help people with brain injuries to regain lost skills, perhaps following a road accident or illness, reports the Llanelli Star.

Speaking to the newspaper, a spokesperson for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) explained: "The project has already attracted considerable support and professional interest from the rehabilitation community in Wales, who wish to see a range of specialist services provided across Wales."

The centre proposals, which was developed by BIRT, includes plans for 18 en-suite bedrooms that will be located on the Llanelli Waterside.

It is no doubt hoped that the centre will adhere to BIRT's existing high standards of professionalism and patient care.

A January stakeholder satisfaction survey indicated that 97 per cent of families were satisfied with the organisation's services.

Some 98 per cent would recommend BIRT to others.
