People with brain injuries on the island of Jersey have received Christmas gifts that are expected to aid in their recovery and rehabilitation.
Two Nintendo Wii consoles and a plasma TV have been donated to the Headway centre on Springfield Road, Channel TV reports.
The centre has more than 100 members, all of whom have survived brain injuries.
Ray Cooper, chief executive officer for Headway Jersey, said: "One of the effects of brain injury is a lack of balance and coordination.
"The use of Wii consoles will enable our members to participate in alternative exercise to regain these abilities whilst having fun and enjoying the experience."
He went on to say that the consoles are already proving very popular and that the members enjoy interacting with each other while aiding their recovery.
Earlier this month, the charity Headway held its annual awards ceremony in London and an ex-royal marine, who sustained a brain injury when he was serving in Afghanistan, was named Achiever of the Year.
