The Conservative Party leader David Cameron has been criticised by a brain injury charity for failing to wear a helmet while cycling into Westminster yesterday (April 7th).
Luke Griggs, from the brain charity Headway, said he was "deeply disappointed" by the apparent photographs of Mr Cameron riding his bike without head protection.
"Brain injury can happen at any moment - all it takes is just one fall and you will regret it for the rest of your life," Mr Griggs warned.
He added that the Tory leader should be setting a good example to other cyclists across the country by wearing a helmet.
Meanwhile, the death of a famous actress following a brain injury is said to have prompted more widespread use of helmets among skiers.
In an article for the BBC News website, Flora Watkins stated that the death of Natasha Richardson following an accident on the slopes in Canada a year ago appears to have prompted a "dramatic" increase in sales of helmets for skiers.
