A service in Scotland that provides support to people with brain injuries has marked its ten-year anniversary.
The West Lothian Community Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Service was initially set up as a one-year project back in 2000 but, a decade on, it is still helping adults in the area, the Scotsman reports.
In a multi-faceted approach, the service delivers community-based rehabilitation methods to assist individuals who have a physical disability or an acquired brain injury.
Service users got together with staff and locals at the recent drop-in event to mark ten years of service, which was held at the Ability Centre in Carmondean Centre Road, Livingston.
According to the news provider, service manager Janet Foggo commented: "We were delighted to see such a good turnout of people despite the bad weather."
Patients are referred to the West Lothian Community Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Service by professionals such as GPs or social workers and the service is delivered in their own home.
