A man who suffered a brain injury made it his mission to help others who have been struck down with the illness, it has been asserted.
Gary Conger, 23, embarked on a bike ride across America earlier this year to boost the coffers of charities that aid those with head traumas, the Daily Record reported.
His friend and fellow fund-raiser Diego M Ortiz wrote a column for the website detailing the pair's exploits, explaining he recruited his pals Willam Darche and Jaraun Wright to complete a cycling quartet.
The group set off on a 3,500-mile jaunt over the summer, which saw them pedal from Virginia to California.
During the 66-day trip the gang tackled Monarch's Pass in Colarado something Mr Ortiz stated was their most challenging period.
"But we made it up the mountain a great metaphor for any challenge in life," he said.
