Brain injury charity to hold 30th anniversary awards this week

Brain injury charity Headway is holding its 30th Anniversary Awards Luncheon this Thursday (December 10th) at The Dorchester in London.

Headways members, who include brain injury survivors, their families, carers and volunteers, will all be present at the five-star hotel.

A champagne reception will kick off proceedings and a gourmet lunch, presentation of the awards and charity auction will follow in the hotel's ballroom.

At last year's award ceremony, the Voyage Achiever of the Year award was won by Edward Hunter from Wales.

The 62-year-old suffered a brain injury in 1996 but discovered his artistic talent while attending Headway Cardiff and went on to graduate from the University of Wales College in Cardiff with a BA Honours degree in Art and Aesthetics.

Headway Devon is also holding the party on Thursday at its Exmouth centre, which is located in the Open Door Centre on Church Street, the Exmouth Herald reported.
