Headway, the brain injury association, is extending its service in North Wales to cover south Gwynedd.
From December 5th the Headway Gwynedd meetings, currently held in Ysbyty Eryri Hospital in Caernarfon, will be held at the Dragon Theatre in Barmouth, the BBC reported.
The charity was set up 30 years ago to give help and support to people affected by brain injury via a network of local groups and branches throughout the UK and Channel Islands.
Headway's groups and branches offer a wide range of services, including carer support, rehabilitation programmes, community outreach, social re-integration and respite care.
Speaking to the BBC, Brian Bollington, chair of Headway Gwynedd, said: "Support groups like ours provide a vital support network to people who may otherwise feel isolated and alone in suffering from the effects of brain injury."
The charity also runs a helpline providing information and advising on sources of support. Headway Helpline also finds local rehabilitation services and listens to those experiencing problems.
