Book looks at new treatment for children with brain injuries

A recently published book proposes a new treatment for children with brain injuries and outlines cases where youngsters have been successfully helped.

The founder of Snowdrop Child Development Consultants Andrew Brereton created the publication entitled Brain Injured Children - Tapping the Potential Within.

He set up the organisation after his first son died from the medical condition and hopes his first-hand experiences can help other people in similar positions.

As well as outlining what the loved ones of sufferers can expect - from diagnoses through to treatment - the book also looks at different therapies available.

One treatment discussed in the literature has been described as radical and is based on the way youngsters think and learn.

The publisher of the book commented: "This book is intended to give hope to parents whose children have suffered brain injury.

"It addresses some of the many complex difficulties which are faced by those families."

Mr Brereton not only examines ways to treat brain injury in his daily work, but also studies autism, cerebral palsy, dyslexia, epilepsy and stroke.
