Our client was aged 15 ½ and was due to take her GCSE’s over the next few months. Her school teachers had high hopes for her academically. In addition, she was beginning to work as a fashion model, and beginning to fulfil one of her longest held aspirations.
She was travelling as a rear-seat passenger in a friends car on the way to meet some of her other school friends as they had arranged. It was raining and water had begun to pool on the road on which they were travelling. As a result, the driver of the car lost control after aquaplaning and the car was involved in a serious accident. No other vehicles were involved.
Jordan suffered a serious spinal injury with a high level break resulting in tetraplegia. She was admitted to the intensive care unit of a local hospital and later transferred to a specialist Spinal Injury Centre.
A recommendation to speak to Serious Law was made by another patient within the Spinal Injury Centre, and within 24-hours our most senior lawyer had met with the family and we were formally instructed to work on their behalf.
Within 7 days, our investigation teams had reconstructed the accident circumstances and gained an admittance of liability in favour of our client.
We immediately appointed a dedicated case manager to work on Jordan’s behalf and within a week had secured substantial interim payments. Whilst Jordan was a client at the Spinal Centre we put in place a care package to meet her needs and purchased a new house including a specialist wet room. Our teams also liased with her school to ensure she could continue with her education at the appropriate time.
Today, Jordan has secured an excellent range of GCSE qualifications and has been successful in developing her career as a model.
