Amputation case study 3

Martin

Our client was travelling to a music festival when the car in which he was travelling was involved in a five-car accident. Our client was cut free from the wreckage and had suffered serious fractures to both legs.

He was operated on immediately, with his right leg requiring steel rods and pins to help the bone to reset.

Following this treatment, medical staff identified problems with the bone in relation to the way in which it was fusing. After a month of further operations, the only option was to amputate the leg below the knee.

The family of our client contacted us after researching our services via the internet and an initial discussion with a specialist lawyer.

We immediately secured funding to allow our client to be fitted with a state of the art prosthetic leg. We also arranged a programme of familiarisation and rehabilitation to ensure that our client could return to an active life. All of this was completed at no cost to our client or his loved ones.

We provided an adapted vehicle, operated via finger control to ensure that our client could continue to work with his current employers and that his career prospects would not be affected. Again all of this was as no cost whatsoever to our client.

If you or a loved one has been affected by amputation, please call us on 0800 61 66 81, or contact us using the details at the top left of this page.
